For 17 years Marcel Verhoeff has been the principal conductor of the Don Cossack Choir in Russia. During these 17 years of work he has recorded several CDs of Russian and Cossack folk songs, Russian romances, classical music and even church hymns, for the execution of which M. Verhoeff underwent a special training in the Moscow seminary.
The choir successfully performs in Russia and is annually invited to perform in Europe to participate in various festivals. Several times the choir has performed in the Russian White House at the invitation of the Russian President and the State Duma.
At the moment, M. Verhoeff is busy organizing a large project under the name "Trans-Siberian Express" - Don Cossack Choir performances in Russian cities from Moscow to Vladivostok. This project is already supported by the Board of Russian Railways, and 6 major television channels will be shooting a film about this unique project and its crew.
Other projects Mr. Verhoeff is currently working on are a musical and a Television program named "The Cossacks" based on the legentary work of Leo Tolstoy.
